The Elven Lands are the ancient homeland of the elven peoples, spread along and beyond the northern shores of the Inner Sea. It is a country of old places — groves, still pools, and ruins tended rather than built — and of the long memory the elves keep through Aetheryn, the living world's remembrance.
Settlements dot its coasts and inland reaches — names such as Ellspire, Thalmyr, Erythiel, and Vael Talaris — though to outsiders they are little more than names; the elves do not invite much company. The elves regard the seven human gods, and the human world generally, with a polite distance that humans often mistake for contempt: not hostility, simply the patience of a people who consider everyone else very young.
