The Watchers Guild practises retrospective divination: the reading of what a place, object, or person has already experienced. Its members serve as forensic witnesses — settling estate disputes, reading crime scenes, and standing as impartial witnesses to transactions — for steep but reliable fees.
They speak only what they observe and refuse to interpret it for the client; a paid reading cannot be disclosed to anyone else without written consent; and the goddess Ossara is acknowledged before every reading. Members rise from Listener through Observer, Witness, and Watcher-in-Full under the guild's sole head, the Still Voice, swearing their founding oath before a Quiet Ledger registrar. Their readings are often inadmissible in court but decisive in private arbitration, and they sit in quiet philosophical tension with the followers of Vrael.
