In the interest of smoothing play and reducing the usual floundering for a clue when presented with the need to pass the time in a new town, I have put together a generic list of stuff to do there (based primarily on the Darklands PC game, and a bit of Mount & Blade). This is really for the players to get ideas, not so much for the GM. Obviously not all options will be available in all towns. Feel free to make suggestions, corrections, additions, etc.
