Victoria grew up in the northern Dust-Bowl of the old United States as her family traveled around looking for work. Her father died early of black-lung from too much time working outdoors without a respirator. Her mother died later of pneumonia (primarily), leaving her in the care of her older brother, picking up much of his personality and habits—smoking, gambling, motorcycles, fighting; did some jail time for misdemeanors. When she was old enough, she entered a mercenary career, serving beside her brother under several different PMC organizations. After her brother was killed, she lost her moral-compass, and ended up getting kicked out of the Company for insubordination. She was unemployed, drifting, like so many others. In Omaha, she ended up doing six months in county jail for battery & assault, which gave her the moment-of-clarity to attempt a real turnaround. She was recently done serving her post-prison community service when she learned that, by some miracle, she had been selected by lottery to go to Terra Nova—a fresh start. Now, if she can just leave the ghost of her brother, and the old habits behind...
