Overview

Think of this as Expendables+John Wick "fight/stunt porn" as a dungeon-crawl

Original Pitch (Redacted 3)

This is going to be a short-run Action campaign taking place entirely on a cruise ship (with "sequel" potential); "Die Hard on a cruise ship." Trying to keep this as "uncomplicated" as possible; should be mostly "combat/action, loosely connected by some plot threads." It'll be properly Cinematic™, as ridiculous as expected, but not too ridiculous (shooting for True Lies level, here; "jumping a motorcycle off one skyscraper to a pool on another, safely" is okay; "shooting a bullet with a bullet" is not). I don't have an official name for it yet; this will depend on the characters, etc.

The PCs are going to be "on vacation" so you will start with no "gear." Characters are going to be "80s/90s Action Heroes™" capable of carrying the entire operation on their own, if needed. (Die Hard, Commando, Lethal Weapon, American Ninja, True Lies, John Wick, The Expendables, etc.) The expectation is that all PCs primarily solve problems by means of "physical action." All of them will be "fighters"—they can have skills for Face Man, Techie, etc, but that should not be their primary specialty/method of dealing with obstacles. As a group, the PCs should be "directly connected"—my suggestion/thinking is something along the lines of them being "retired" members of a PMC/SWAT-Team/etc (the nature of this group will greatly affect the makeup of the individual characters). 250/-50/-5; Action templates are encouraged but not required, and all standard template components are valid. This will be "Fully Cinematic"; Trained by a Master, Weapon Master, Gunslinger, etc, are all allowed (and expected). There will be some restrictions on Disads based on the nature of the campaign.

Re rules: I will be using Fantastic Dungeon Grappling, and given the "no gear" kickoff, you will definitely get some use out of it. Otherwise, we'll have a discussion about what books/mechanics to allow/disallow—I do kinda want to restrict the ruleset and try to keep things a bit simpler than usual.
