The Greenward Fellowship is a fellowship of those who practise living magic, bound in a compact with the elder power Aetheryn, the living world's memory. Its members listen to old places and keep their memory, and they hold their grove-sites strictly neutral; any practitioner who damages a living landscape is expected to make restitution.
The Fellowship takes human, half-elf, orcish, and elven members alike — its orcish practitioners working through traditions parallel to those of Grauth — and authority within it comes not from raw power but from depth of listening, rising from Seedling through Tendril and Branch to the regional Grovewardens and, above all, the Eldest, who is always elven. It keeps warm ties to Calleth's clergy and a long methodological quarrel with The Grey Order.
