Vrael does not punish lies. He simply ensures they surface — always at the worst possible moment, in the manner most true to what was hidden. Merchants pray to him before signing contracts; spies pray to him before going silent; the guilty pray to him most of all.

He has no morality, only accounting. He does not care whether a secret is virtuous or wicked, only that it exists and will one day be known. His clerics are the most uncomfortable people in any room — not because they are cruel, but because they are honest in a world that prefers otherwise.

The Quiet Ledger

Loosely organised; Vrael is often paired with Ossara by followers. The faith has no temples, only registries: buildings resembling notary offices, staffed by clerics who record oaths, witness contracts, and keep sealed archives of voluntary confessions. An archive is never opened in the lifetime of the person who submitted it — but after death it is read aloud at the funeral, by law, before the family. The chief act of worship is the Ledger Confession, a single secret written, sealed, and submitted each year; the faithful also swear the Opened Eye, a personal oath never to deny the truth of something they witnessed. Clerics dress as ordinary citizens — no robes, no rites, no ceremony.

There is a quiet mutual respect between Quiet Ledger registrars and the dwarven debt-keepers of Durroch, and the Ledger's registrars witness the oaths of the Iron Scales Assembly and the Watchers Guild.
