Details

Reece is a child of a wealthy family, one he resents.

Reece's parents are old money, owning and operating the largest horse ranch in the region. Reese has two older brothers and a younger sister: Edward the heir apparent, a rancher and investor, Ewan the family lawyer, and Elanna who has just completed her internship at the Mayo Clinic.

Reece and John met as youths while working on Reese's family ranch. The two became instant friends, getting into a lot of trouble - many mis-adventures being at John’s provocation. Reece was fascinated about John’s heritage, and learned whatever he could from his friend. Shortly after John’s mother's death, Reece tried everything he could to help distract John, or alleviate his grief, but it was to no avail. In a particular heated exchange, mostly about John’s girlfriend’s pregnancy, John lost his temper and Reece was injured in an ensuing fight. While not nearly as serious as it seemed, Reece was left unconscious, and John stole a horse. Escaping Reece's family when they investigated the ruckus. They too thought Reece to be more injured that he really was, and tried to have the law come down hard on John, but John fled, and wasn’t seen again for many years. Reece quickly recovered, suffering nothing more than a scar that his hair hid, but he was appalled at his family’s reaction to his friend, and tried to convince them that it was his fault that the argument even started. But, it was too late, his friend had fled, and was wanted.

Reece began to become increasingly distant from his family, realizing that while they talked a big game, and were seemingly altruistic, they were really just bullies - using their wealth and influence to dictate terms within the local community. Reece decided that he wouldn’t go along with their plans for him, and instead, struck off on his own.

He completed a degree in Criminal Justice from the local community college and joined the police force in Cheyenne, WY. Reece rose through the ranks in the Cheyenne PD, becoming part of the K-9 division, and eventually reaching Sergeant. It was around that time news of his mother’s death reached him. While he still resents his parents, he returned to Cody for the funeral. It was after the funeral that Reece reunited with John, who had recently ETS’d from the Army. Once again the cowboy and Indian were friends. Reece also met his now ex-girlfriend Michelle while he was in Cody, and began a relationship with her. Reece quickly resented the distance between Cody and Cheyenne, and after a year of travel back and forth between, Reece applied and was accepted into the Park County Sheriff’s Department where he has been for the last two year.

After arriving on station he petitioned the department for a K-9, and it was approved. Shortly after, the department acquired Woola, a massive Belgian Malinois. Since the start of their partnership Reece and Woola have been highly decorated in the Park Co. Sheriff's department, and the two are inseparable.

While he did eventually break-up with Michelle, it was she who introduced him to Jules, a local EMT, whom he is determined to introduce to the joy of hunting.

Reece was the first to respond when it was announced that John had fled into the woods with his son.
