Details
Her background is a mystery, due to her inability to speak—she can make no vocal sound at all; she is also illiterate. She does understand Dutch, and seems to indicate she originates from the United Provinces. She seems comfortable at sea, and has exhibited a fondness for ships, and skill at their operation, often helping the crew with minor tasks. She has indicated that "her" ship lay somewhere to the west. Based on reactions she has exhibited on occasion, it seems she was taken captive on Grand Cayman, and her captain (Pier Hekkers?) was killed. She was found on Île-à-Vache being chased by a group of belligerent sailors, who ended up joining with the crew of the Rumjack in pursuit of her for unknown reasons.
- Geoffrey de Saloman seemed to think there was something "unusual" about her
