Details
His past is a bit of a mystery, as he generally avoids talking about it. "Hoss" says he's sixty years old. It's generally inferred he is a freed slave, who worked with his master's horses in his youth. However he got there, the story goes that he ended up in San Fransisco, and joined up with the California Company on their way to the San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado to found a new mining camp, what would eventually be incorporated as Babylon. He's been in the camp, and the town, since it began, running the livery.
