Details
Bernard was the leader of a mutiny, when the crew of his ship rose up against their exploitative company masters. The revolt, though bloody, was a success, and Bernard was transformed from upstart seaman to leader of a crew of fugitives. All his crew looked up to him, and would do anything he asked. The mutineer crew eventually parted ways and sold the ship, splitting the profits. Bernard hasn’t seen any of his former crewmates since then. He intends to invest his share of the prize money in a plot of land near his birthplace in Hispaniola. He hired on to La Dame Blanche in Brest, keeping his secret while working his way back closer to home, and retirement.

Bernard is rarely seen without a large black cockatoo named "Tee." It does mimic speech, in French; most commonly heard saying, “Petit de foule” (roughly meaning "It's a little crowded")
