Phantine is a planet located in the Phanta System within the Chommell Sector of the galaxy's Mid Rim. This mountainous world is renowned for its unique geography, sky-cities, and toxic lowlands.

Geography and Climate

Phantine is characterized by its extensive mountain ranges and limited open ground. The planet's surface, once habitable, was devastated by centuries of unchecked industrialization, rendering it inhospitable. As a result, the population relocated to protected mountain settlements. These settlements are equipped with protective force shields, although frequent malfunctions, age, and sabotage often lead to shield failures.

Population and Culture

Phantine boasts a diverse population, with various species coexisting in its mountain cities. The population makeup consists of 65% humans, 10% Native Phantans, and 25% other species. The inhabitants, regardless of their species, share a common struggle against the oppressive rule of the Galactic Empire. They exhibit resilience, resourcefulness, and a strong sense of community, driven by their shared resistance against the Empire's occupation. The people of Phantine suffer from the detrimental effects of pollution and exhaust, leading to higher rates of health issues, including skin cancer.

Not unexpectedly, a significant black market and criminal element has developed in the underbelly of the mountain-cities, and they are frequently at odds with one another which sometimes results in further sabotage or mysterious failures of protective shields as one side or another seeks to gain a stronger hold. These criminal gangs generally avoid moving against Imperial assets as reprisal operations are too big of a threat and have resulted in entire gangs being completely wiped out; now, the criminal underworld is just as likely to eliminate a threat to the Imperial status quo out of fear as ISB agents.

Occupation by the Galactic Empire

Following the establishment of the Galactic Empire, Phantine fell under its control. The Empire exploits the planet's resources, particularly the production of Mercoxit, a valuable mineral. The Empire's occupation is enforced by the presence of Imperial forces, including the Imperial Army and Stormtroopers. The local governance is overseen by an Imperial Administrator, Ares Krytal, who wields authority over the civilian leadership represented by the Phantine Board of Directors.

- Minerva: The capital and largest settlement on Phantine, Minerva is a sprawling urban center located in the mountains. It serves as a hub of activities and houses various facilities, including government buildings and headquarters of the Imperial administration on the planet.

- Skyreach: A sky-city perched atop one of Phantine's highest mountain peaks. Skyreach is known for its breathtaking views and is home to a significant population.

- Highspire: Another prominent sky-city on Phantine, Highspire is recognized for its vertical architecture, with towering spires reaching towards the sky.
